"We decided shortly after becoming pregnant that we wanted the services of a doula during our birth journey. We planned from the beginning to have a natural birth, but as this was our first child, we knew we would need someone to help guide us along the way. Thankfully, a local doula who was unavailable during our time referred us to Samantha. From the beginning she encouraged us to develop our ideal birth plan on our own, offering her advice and wisdom along the way. We met with her in person on several occasions and she checked in often as the date got closer. Samantha made an effort to get to know us personally and to determine how she could best support us on our journey. She also ensured that we were on the same page about what her role would be during the birth. Although our birth plan was not completely realized, we have no doubt that Samantha was a huge reason we were able to get through labor so long without putting undue stress on Momma or Baby. "This was my second birth and wanted to use a doula to assist me throughout the 9 months and during the delivery. It was important to me to have a wonderful labor experience and a doula can provide services that help with stressful situations and guidance when needed. "I cannot express how thankful I am Sam attended my birth. Actually I can; I am eternally grateful she was there. I had a very difficult labor and delivery that did not go at all as planned. But Sam provided comfort, wise words, and support the whole time. Even thought I didn’t have the birth I had planned she encouraged me to have an empowered birth regardless of what that looked like. "Samantha was my birth doula with my second child. It was truly unique and empowering experience for me. My labour progressed very quick and 2nd trip to the birth place I took holding my newborn baby on my chest on board of an ambulance. That means that I unexpectedly had a home birth without wanting or planning one.Samantha was with us the whole time, from the moment we went to the birth place the 1st time and got sent back home. I didn't even know she was on her way because I didn't want to call her too early. Thank God she went ahead and started traveling our way. She was with me at the birth place the 1st time I got there. Then she made a decision to follow us home just in case. 'Just in case' totally happened. 2 hours after I was sent home 'to wait till morning' i was having my baby in my home. Samantha couldn't be more helpful through the contractions. She intuitively followed my lead and comforted me just the way I could breath my way through. I was holding her hands like it was the only thing that helped me survive. When the time came and I realized it was too late to go to the hospital she quickly called my husband and got us clean towels. She was wonderful with my two year old daughter and held her so she wasn't scared when the EMT arrived.After I was brought to the birth place Samantha was already there with my husband which was amazing because I needed familiar faces with all we were going through at the moment. She remained by my side the entire time the doctor and nurses were taking care of me. When you are in the moments of labour and immediate postpartum you really need someone who knows what you are going through and knows how to be there for you. Her soft voice, her presence, her confidence helped me through most exciting unique natural birth. She helped us create a memory we will cherish, never forget, and will tell our family, friends and kids! If I was ever pregnant again I would ask Samantha to be my doula in a heart bit!"

"When we found out we were pregnant, I immediately knew I wanted a doula. We were so lucky to find Samantha! From our initial consult, my husband and I could tell she was not only experienced in the birthing process, but she was also passionate about it. She met with us several times before the birth and even accompanied me to a prenatal visit. She talked us through a lot of questions we had and offered knowledgeable advice when needed. We appreciated her calm demeanor, sweet spirit and willingness to be available at any given moment. Our birth experience didn't go as expected (does it ever??) - so while we planned on having her there throughout all of early labor, turns out my body completely skipped that part. I went straight into active labor and transition.
